Why this book?
The idea to publish a book about the establishment of the
world’s at that time biggest wind farm derived from photographer
Mads Eskesen. Apart from other projects Mads works freelance
for SPOK ApS and the wind co-operative Middelgrunden I/S.
On his own initiative Mads made a series of pictures that
document the construction work and deserved to be published
in this book.
Publishing this book was a natural extension of our involvement
in the project: We took part in initiating the co-operative
and were responsible for the technical part of the preliminary
investigations, among them the Environmental Impact Assessment.
Furthermore we were vice project managers for SEAS, responsible
for the foundations. Until the autumn 2000 the activities
took place in EMU. New projects now take place with the same
staff in SPOK ApS.
Obviously we were not the only ones who thought it was a
great idea to present the Middelgrunden offshore wind farm
in this way. All parties involved supported the book and willingly
contributed with texts. In that way we cover all the aspects
of establishing of Middelgrunden, the world’s biggest offshore
wind farm based on dual ownership.
Thanks to all involved
